4 Effective Cellulite Removal Exercises

It can be so frustrating to keep a strict diet and exercise schedule and still have to be embarrassed by cellulite. This largely cosmetic issue shows up on the backside of almost every woman on the planet, and it seems like a losing battle unless you go under the knife. Extreme, yes. Foolproof, no.

There is an alternative to showing up in the plastic surgeon’s office. Consider tweaking your current exercise routine with a few exercises that can help tone and strengthen muscles, reducing the appearance of cellulite without drugs and surgery.

Four-direction Lunges

Lunges are great for the quads, but when you vary the direction, you get an all-over thigh and butt toning.

* Rest hands on hips and extend your right foot forward in a deep lunge, keeping your knee positioned directly over the ankle.

* Return to standing, and then extend the right foot to the right for a deep side lunge.

* Return to standing again and lunge the right foot backwards, while keeping back and hips upright.

* Return to standing and extend the right foot behind and to the side of the left foot and drop into a cross-lunge.

* Return to standing and repeat on left side.

* Continue for 3 sets of 15 on each side.

Ballet Squats

Dancers always have such sleek legs, and you can too with this hamstring strengthening and thigh slimming exercise.

* Stand with feet wide and toes turned out at a 45 degree angle.

* Hold something such as a small dumbbell vertically with both hands at chest height.

* Squat deeply and rise back up, keeping your knees just over ankles and hips rolled under.

* Repeat 20 times for 3 sets.
