5 Key Pointers Of An Osteoporosis Diet

Are you on an osteoporosis diet or an ordinary diet that you think will be good to build up your bones?

When you’re on a true osteoporosis diet that stimulates the healing for your bones, you’ll feel better and better every day.

Your skeleton will feel stronger and you’ll notice it’s easier to stand up straighter and sit straighter. You’ll even feel like exercising after a few months. And you’ll look like your vitality has improved. Some people even start getting comments that they’re looking younger from their friends.

5 Pointers on an Osteoporosis Diet

What is an osteoporosis diet? It’s one that follows these guidelines:

1. Minimal and Preferably No Sugar

Sugar robs your body of minerals, especially calcium. What happens is after eating sugar, there’s an acidic reaction in your body. Calcium and other electrolytes are called upon to neutralize the acidity. The calcium in the blood is first used up and then calcium is drawn from the bones to make up the difference.

Have you ever seen what happens when a tooth soaks in Coca-cola? This beverage is an acidic beverage and dissolves the tooth overnight. The reaction is similar to what happens when you eat or drink acidic foods that need to be neutralized.

2. Minimal and Preferably No Processed Foods

Just as sugar creates an acidic reaction in the body, the same thing can happen with processed foods. However, there’s another reaction that occurs with many processed foods – an insulin reaction because the blood sugar skyrockets after consumption of these foods. When the blood sugar is too high, it has to be deposited somewhere in the body; every organ including the bones gets a good amount of sugar deposited in the cells. This causes the proteins in the cells to become dysfunctional.
