8 Natural Remedies For Arthritis From Your Kitchen

Nuts

Almonds, peanuts, and hazelnuts are also very good sources of boron. Do consult with your doctor if diverticulitis and/or lower GI issues are present.

Curry

A combination of spices generally including turmeric, garlic, cumin, cinnamon, and others makes up curry. These spices constitute powerful antioxidants that have been shown to help relieve arthritis inflammation and reduce its pain.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

You may know about salmon, mackerel and other omega-3-rich food benefits. Consider the fact that studies have provided substantial evidence supporting the theory that omega-3 fats can help ease rheumatoid arthritis (RA) symptoms by reducing inflammation and maintaining cell membrane fluidity.

Did you know that a 4-ounce portion of shrimp has 100 mg omega-3 fats? Kidney beans, walnuts, spinach, and a variety of other wholesome foods offer those omega-3s, making them all natural remedies for arthritis.

Cantaloupe

Vitamin C might not seem appropriate to this list, but it certainly belongs. This tasty fruit contains quite a bit of vitamin beta-carotene (Vitamin A in plant form) and vitamin C. Both of these powerful vitamins actively work to control the oxidative and free radical damage that contributes to arthritis.

Chili Peppers

You don’t want to block all arthritis pain, as it’s a signal that joints are weakened, letting your brain and central nervous system know how to respond accordingly. Meanwhile, the heat found in chili peppers derives from a constituent called capsaicin – one of nature’s natural remedies for arthritis.

According to Arthritis Research UK, “Capsaicin is taken from chili peppers. It works mainly by reducing Substance P, a pain transmitter in your nerves. Results from RCTs assessing its role in treating osteoarthritis suggest that it can be effective in reducing pain and tenderness in affected joints.” So, spice up that chili, enjoying every bite as an arthritis painkiller.
