Best Ways Of Getting Rid Of A Hangover

This is the holy grail of natural health questions – how to get rid of a hangover.

There are lots of ‘cures’ out there for this condition, but I would think that they don’t completely do the trick. The truth is that nothing can get rid of a hangover except time. And time certainly moves slowly when you feel like you got run-over by a freight truck the night before.

The only true way that I know of to beat a hangover is to – wait for it – not get a hangover in the first place. Chances are, if you’re reading this article you’ve already passed the point of no return, and it’s too late. Even though I can’t take the pain away with all of the energy healing tricks in my tool kit, I can offer you some advice about how to make it better instead of worse.

Everyone processes alcohol differently, meaning some people can drink more without feeling the after effects that someone else might. Weight, drinking experience, speed of consumption, and the type of alcohol you drink are all factors that contribute to overindulgence. Learn your limits, and always err on the side of caution to be sure to wake up hangover-free.

The Night Before

One of the best ways to avoid that morning-after feeling is to plan your evening before you sip that first cocktail. Know ahead of time what your limit is, so that you’ll be less likely to get swept up by the energy of the party. Remind yourself of the following guidelines and enjoy the evening responsibly rather than make yourself regret having too good of a time the next day.

* Stick to One Type of Alcohol – don’t alternate between beer and spirits; instead choose to enjoy one type of cocktail and stick with it

* Light vs Dark – it is said that darker liquors cause more hangovers than lighter – you be the judge

* Consume Less – this is probably the best advice on the subject – make a point to say good night early

* Drink Water – it’s easy to forget that water is your friend, so consume 8oz of plain water between drinks

* Eat Food – have a small meal before going out or plan to snack on ordering appetizers with your cocktails

* Sleep Well – if you leave early, you can get more sleep which is one of the best ways to ease the effects of alcohol

It’s easy to tell yourself that one more won’t hurt, or you can spare a few hours sleep after a few drinks, but it can make for a regrettable morning on more than just a physical level.
