Canker sores, also known as aphthous ulcers, are irritating, tingling, and painful sores which form in the mouth or on the lips.

The first sign of a canker sore may be burning and tingling of the area. As the sores develop, they may appear white. Sometimes, they open up and cause an ulcerated area which is covered by a white or yellow film to form.

* One canker sore home remedy addresses healing and prevention of the sores via vitamin and mineral therapies. People who have a lack of B vitamins, lysine or iron are at risk for canker sore development. I have clients who swear by the use of lysine to cure and especially prevent canker sores. Follow label instructions. Take a multivitamin / multimineral supplement as well. The ones with extra B vitamins may be the most helpful for you. Vitamin C is helpful too.
