Exercises For Osteoporosis Sufferers To Strengthen Their Bones

2. By week three, your muscles and bones are getting the message that you’re determined to strengthen them. Now perform your first set of 12 repetitions and then a second with 10 repetitions, as in the Body for Life Program. Only work out on alternative days. Monday is upper body, Wednesday is lower body, and Friday is upper body, etc. Continue this for another week.

3. In week 5, you’re ready to add another set according to the Body for Life Program. And you’re feeling stronger, too.

4. During week 6, you’re ready to add the fourth set.

5. During week 7, you’re ready to add the fifth set.

6. Take each of these at your own pace, monitoring your body for its response. Is your body battling against you and causing an exorbitant amount of tiredness and fatigue? If so, take your antioxidants (vitamin A, C, E, and D) daily and see if this alleviates the fatigue. If not, continue the antioxidants but stay at the same level until your body is ready to move on.

Your exercises for osteoporosis can progress to the full Body for Life program in due time. Remember, there is no race here but rather, a learning experience of how to work with your body along the way. When you have osteoporosis, it’s important to baby your body in the very beginning – while you are building the bones.

What To Expect From Exercises for Osteoporosis

I’ve had patients complete this Body-for-Life program and end up with a 15% increase in bone density. This type of increase is great compared to medical options for osteoporosis that only give you a 1% increase and have side effects. One particular patient I recall who used this plan as her exercises for osteoporosis started out skinny, frail, and fragile and ended up strong looking and 15 years younger as a result. Her body showed muscle definition better than most people in their 30s. The exercises for osteoporosis left her feeling good about her body and more motivated to eat right and take her supplements.

You can reverse osteoporosis. It does take a complete plan that includes proper diet, supplements for what your body needs, and exercises for osteoporosis but you can do it. Set your mind to it. Get the nutritional help you need for it and figure out a plan that works for you.
