Natural Remedies For Nausea Used By A Holistic Healer

Nausea can strike any time, any place. Light, noise, air pollution, illness, even emotional stress can be enough to make you feel a little sick in your stomach. There are many factors that can contribute to occasional nausea, and there are as many over-the-counter remedies to match each factor.

But what if you don’t want to medicate random, inconvenient symptoms? What if you want to stop feeling like you just got off a roller coaster once and for all?

Besides the possible side-effects that over-the-counter nausea remedies may cause, they may not be effective if the source of the nausea is psychological in nature. Yeah, I’m telling you that your thoughts and emotions can make you physically sick.

When my clients complain of nausea, I ask them to describe what they are thinking or feeling when they have that physical sensation. Often, they are anticipating something and letting it stress them out too much, and sometimes just recalling a situation is enough to trigger their nausea. I can usually ease their symptoms in my office with an energy healing technique or two, but I also give tips about how to prevent this experience in the first place.

If we let our thoughts get out of control, it can show up as any number of digestive aliments, with nausea being one of the most common. Worry, anxiety and stress can all have negative effects on not only our digestive system, but can be the root cause of many illnesses.

The good news is that the emotional and environmental triggers for nausea are usually easy to avoid and respond well to treatment. I have seen many clients eliminate their symptoms of nausea completely just by adopting a few preventative strategies for mind and body.

Choose Wisely

It only makes sense that what you eat has a huge effect on how you feel. Making just a few adjustments to your food choices may be just the thing to reduce your symptoms of nausea and help your body digest properly.

* No Fried Food – eliminate foods that are rich, greasy or high in fat as they are difficult to digest and can cause stomach upset

* Limit Spices – choose herbs and spices that are mild and easy to digest

* No Junk Food – processed and fast foods are more likely to give you tummy trouble

* Smart Food Combos – avoid eating lots of refined sugar, wheat or dairy products at one time; combine easy to digest foods for meals and save a sweet treat for an in-between snack
