Relief For Headaches In The Back Of The Head

Almost everyone who suffers from headaches that originate in the back of the head can benefit from trying a few natural remedies. You may notice that one remedy works particularly well for you, or that you need to use them together to find relief. These are simple, safe and effective, and the perfect alternative to medications.

* Essential oils – mix 2 drops each rosemary and peppermint with a small amount of massage cream and apply to back of neck or reflexology points as needed

* Reflexology – gently massage each toe and the crease below the toes on the bottom of the feet to relax the head and neck

* Homeopathy – Belladonna, Gelsemium or Ignatia are useful for relieving headaches

* Baths – add one cup of Epsom salts and a few drops of essential oils, light a candle and relax

Each of these can be a powerful tension tamer, but used together over time, you will notice not only a reduction in back of the head pains, but also a greater sense of peace and wellbeing. If you don’t notice a significant reduction in frequency and severity of pain in the back of your head, consult your physician to rule out a more serious underlying condition.

It’s important to remember that these natural remedies will be more effective the more you use them, and especially if you continue to do them even when you’re not experiencing a headache. I have seen many clients help their headaches by including a few nourishing activities into their routines and they often don’t even notice the headaches are gone. They’re too busy enjoying life.
