Using Home Remedies For Nausea To Obtain Effective Relief

Nausea is a common affliction. Home remedies for nausea can relieve nausea and vomiting.

Use home remedies to relieve infrequent bouts of nausea. If nausea and vomiting are recurrent, or if they occur in young children, the elderly, or people with health issues, consult your health care practitioner.

Vitamin Therapy for Nausea

Scientific studies have shown that using a combination of vitamin B, vitamin C, and vitamin K can effectively relieve nausea and vomiting. The vitamin treatment even relieves nausea due to morning sickness.

The vitamins must be used together. If only one is taken, it will not work. Use natural forms of vitamins when available. Persistent nausea, due to a known cause, may be relieved within seventy two hours of beginning treatment. Take a vitamin B complex formula. In addition, consume 25 milligrams of vitamin B6 three times daily. Simultaneously take 250 milligrams of vitamin C three times daily. Take vitamin K 5 milligrams each day.

Acupressure Relieves Nausea

Years ago, I underwent chemotherapy for cancer treatment. A friend gave me an acupressure bracelet which I wore throughout treatment. I cannot say that I did not experience any nausea, but I never vomited. I believe that was partly due to the acupressure band. I do know that the band worked as well as many of the potent anti-nausea medications did. Another plus of using the acupressure band is that it has no harmful side effects such as severe constipation which often occurs during chemotherapy treatment. Since the acupressure band effectively reduced the sever nausea of chemotherapy, I believe it can do an excellent job relieving all other types of nausea.

Diet to Relieve Nausea

If you are vomiting, do not eat. If you are nauseated, try nibbling on a few bites of dry toast or crackers. Take small amounts of liquids every fifteen minutes to prevent the worsening of symptoms and dehydration if vomiting ensues. Plain black tea and all natural strong ginger soda can relieve nausea. Purchase a good quality ginger ale, not just the ordinary grocery store variety, for medicinal use. Herb teas, such as chamomile or peppermint, are good beverage choices too.

It is essential that you listen carefully to your body when consuming food and drink while you are nauseated. Avoid heavy or greasy foods. Grandma’s chicken soup may appeal to you. Just consume it in small amounts until you feel better.

While most people who are nauseated prefer bland foods, some of us respond better to spicy clear soups. If a food does not appeal to you, do not try to consume it.

Many people benefit from a clear liquid diet. Clear liquids include beverages that you can see through such as apple juice. Ice pops and gelatin are often included as well.

As your symptoms lessen, resume a healthy diet very slowly.
