How To Improve Brain Memory Naturally

Rosemary has been known for centuries as the “herb of remembrance”. This antioxidant rich herb serves as a tonic for the entire body. It is especially beneficial for the health of the brain and circulation.

Drinking a cup of coffee or tea relieves fatigue and improves concentration. Green and black tea are both effective.

Herbal remedies may be consumed in a variety of forms. Dosage varies with each herb and depending upon the goal. For example, the amount that you use is different for preventative purposes than the amount consumed if a specific memory issue is present. You may choose to consume herbs as food, tea, tinctures, capsules or pills. Other forms are available as well.


Aromatherapy Is Great Pick Me Up

If I need to concentrate on a project or if I feel scattered, I take a whiff of an essential oil. You may use essential oils in a diffuser, or simply take the top off a bottle of essential oil and take a whiff. I like to carry a tissue with a few drops of essential oils on it in my pocket for a quick pick me up.

My go-to oils are peppermint, rosemary, and basil. Citrus oils are excellent choices too. Tangerine or sweet orange oil is great to run in a diffuser while children are doing homework. They usually enjoy the odor and it aids concentration.

The sense of smell is closely linked with the subconscious memory. Recall a favorite smell from childhood and you are immediately transported back to eating Grandma’s cookies or to the smell of a Christmas tree. Aromatherapy activates the memory pathways of the brain. It is a highly effective modality for enhancing recall.
