Best Diet For Reducing Fibromyalgia Symptoms

Foods

When you’re feeling lousy, it might be tempting to reach for comfort foods like sugary treats or gooey pasta dishes. Although they might temporarily boost your mood, they end up robbing you of precious energy and not supporting your overall health. Be mindful of how you feel when you eat certain foods and let your body tell you what you need.

Enjoy the following foods on a regular basis to support immune function and boost energy levels.

* Raw foods – full of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, they help to energize and protect

* Pomegranates – powerful antioxidant properties

* Fresh raw juices – helps flush toxins and energize

* Chlorophyll green drinks – maintains energy levels and reduces pain

Avoid these known triggers for fatigue and allergic reactions. These foods often increase pain and disturb sleep patterns.

* No wheat – sensitivities can lead to pain and allergic reactions

* No nightshades – tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant are most common

* No meat or dairy products – increase the pain response

* No caffeine, alcohol, sugar – contribute to fatigue

When I talk to my clients about the effects of their dietary choices on their health, they often get very defensive about their eating habits, even though they know they are causing them discomfort. No one wants to give up the foods that they love, but finding a balance between true enjoyment and lasting wellbeing does not have to be an all or nothing thing. Making supportive, nutritional food choices most of the time, means that your symptoms won’t flare up as often, and you can enjoy other foods in small amounts. Trust me, reducing the pain of fibromyalgia is worth a few tweaks to your diet.
