5 Natural Plantar Wart Remedies Which Are Easy To Apply

3. Duct Tape

Dr. Jerome Litt introduced the idea of duct tape treatment for plantar warts in1978. This treatment has become popular again due to it being a naturopathic alternative to cryotherapy.

After applying liquid nitrogen directly on the wart, simply paste a piece of duct tape the size of the wart directly on the wart and leave it on for 6 days. After removal of the tape, soak the area in warm water for 5-10 minutes, then scrub the wart with an emery board or pumice stone. Next allow it to air for 6 to 10 hours.

The following morning, repeat this 6-day program again. You may need to repeat this process for up to 2 months until the wart is finally out.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

The acid in apple cider vinegar attacks the plantar wart and the immediate surrounding area. This naturopathic intervention weakens or kills the offending virus, allowing you to peel away the unhealthy skin from the healthy surrounding skin, taking the virus with it.

Here’s the procedure: First soak the wart in apple cider vinegar for about 20 minutes. Then, gently remove the dead tissue with a pumice stone or emery board. After that, apply petroleum jelly around the wart (not on the wart itself) to protect the skin, finally covering the wart with a piece of cotton ball that has been soaked in cider. Use an adhesive bandage to cover the cotton ball and hold it in place. Repeat once a day until the wart falls off or comes out.

Note that this treatment causes the wart to swell, which may be a bit uncomfortable, depending on the wart location. Also, don’t dig the wart out, as you can damage healthy tissue around it. This plantar wart remedy gets best results by simply scraping the wart as described, and allowing it to finally come out when it’s ready.

5. Oil of Lemon

Twice daily applications of a couple of drops of undiluted oil of lemon directly on the wart is known to work extremely well for many people. The antibacterial nature of the lemon acts in the same manner to kill the virus that causes the plantar wart.

Let the wart dry after application, and then go about your business. Use this plantar wart remedy once in the morning and again in the evening. Within a few weeks, you will see the wart falling out and gone forever.
