Natural Remedies For Healing Eczema

* To reduce the over-drying effects of soap, use only where and when it counts rather than lathering up every inch of your skin every day.

* Take a warm bath with one cup of Epsom salts added to the water. Soak for up to 20 minutes and before towel drying, apply a nourishing moisturizing oil blend, such as almond, jojoba and grapeseed oils to wet skin and allow to dry naturally.

Essential Healing Remedies

The healing properties of essential oils have been known for centuries. These concentrated plant medicines contain anti-inflammatory, anti-infection, re-generative and stress relieving properties that are excellent for healing and soothing skin affected by eczema. I often hand-blend essential oils for my clients, (some of whom have been suffering from eczema for decades) and they have reported significant reduction in the frequency and intensity of flare-ups.

Mix the following oils in a glass dropper bottle or other jar and fill with almond, jojoba or grapeseed oil. Apply to the affected area several times per day as needed. These not only are very healing to the skin, but also naturally relieve stress.

* Eucalyptus – 6 drops
* Geranium – 6 drops
* Juniper – 4 drops
* Lavender – 8 drops
* Patchouli – 4 drops
* Rosewood – 4 drops

Always use a therapeutic-grade organic or wild-crafted essential oil for best results, and use consistently. Never take internally, as they are powerful enough when applied to the skin.
Most of all, it is crucial to reduce internal stress caused by diet, and external stress caused by work and responsibilities.

By taking small steps to care for yourself, you are cultivating a state of being that is more relaxed and less stressed, which is a great remedy for treating everything that ails you, not just your skin.
