What Your Carpal Tunnel Treatment Could Be Missing

Personal Experience with Carpal Tunnel Treatment

What I’ve found after years of practice is that by simply increasing these nutrients all at the same time, yet in balance with each other, any connective tissue disorder can heal. One way to do this is to screen the body for deficiencies with blood tests and a hair analysis.

It’s very common for a vitamin D deficiency to cause muscle, bone, and joint issues; yet a vitamin D deficiency is common in greater than 50% of people I’ve seen. The deficiency worsens all body aches and pains and may be related to inflammation. There has to be some reason why the median nerve became inflamed in the first place. Prior to the development of carpal tunnel syndrome, the person did not have the inflammation at all. Starting with restoring vitamin D levels is an easy first step.

Next, I’ll add antioxidants to balance the 10,000 IU vitamin D taken daily for 3 months to overcome a vitamin D deficiency. For example, supplements of 400 IU vitamin E, along with 10,000 IU vitamin A and 2000 mg vitamin C provide the balance while also strengthening the connective tissue against free radical attack. This protocol can also decrease inflammation because it neutralizes free radicals. Taking this regimen for about 30 days is a great start but still not enough for carpal tunnel treatment.

All the B vitamins should be added next in a dosage of about 200 to 300% of the RDA. Simultaneously, adding 1 heaping tablespoon of food-grade diatomaceous earth twice daily to water, juice or milk provides plenty of dietary silica to repair tissues. Silica is not even considered an element by health practitioners but it absolutely is essential for our connective tissue health.

Adding 1000 mg calcium, 500 mg magnesium, 500 mg phosphorus, 15 mg zinc, 2 mg copper, 500 mg pantothenic acid and 10-30 mg manganese along with a multivitamin/mineral for balance is the last step. The manganese is usually one of the key ingredients in the program – a manganese deficiency causes carpal tunnel syndrome. That’s what I’ve seen. However, it must be determined whether or not the manganese is in deficiency status prior to supplementation. You don’t ever want to supplement with a vitamin or mineral if levels don’t need to be supplemented.

All the supplements are taken for 30 days and then re-evaluated to see if they should be continued. Usually a program of supplements is followed for six months with minor alteration in the antioxidants along the way for this natural healing carpal tunnel treatment.
