Breathing Techniques For Dealing With Anxiety

A natural remedy for anxiety that you always have with you is your breath. Take a class or buy a recording which teaches breathing exercises. One easy breathing exercise is called four part breathing. You can do it anytime, anywhere and no one except you will be aware of you using a technique to stay calm. It works by helping you concentrate on your breath, rather than the fear. It also prevents you from hyperventilating which often occurs when people are anxious. The breathing technique releases stress relieving natural chemicals throughout your entire body.

Simply inhale through your nose to a count of four then gently hold that breathe in while you silently count to four. Slowly exhale while counting to four again. Wait four more seconds before you take another breath. Repeat the cycle a minimum of three times or until you are relaxed.

Exercise

Regular exercise is one of the most effective ways to naturally relieve anxiety. Exercise releases feel good hormones which uplift the spirit and relieve pain. Exercise also provides you with a sense of accomplishment. A healthy toned body may help you to feel more confident too. Find an activity that you enjoy. Yoga, Tai Chi, and walking are especially beneficial for people who seek to reduce anxiety naturally.

I recommend that exercise be performed out in a natural environment whenever possible. Multiple studies prove that simply being exposed to natural environments offers multiple healing benefits. An increased sense of peace and belonging as well as improved mental clarity are just some of the benefits of spending time in nature.
