Raw Food Weight Loss – Is It For You?


Real Cereal for Breakfast

Ingredients

* 1 cup buckwheat groats, quinoa, millet, oats, rye berries, wheat berries or spelt
* 2-1/2 cups water, boiled

Directions

1. Turn your oven to warm, or the lowest setting that you can get it to. Aim for 120 degrees Fahrenheit as your goal. However, in some ovens, 200 degrees is the lowest you can go.

2. Pour the boiling water over the cereal grain and cover it tightly. The best dishes for this would be ones that are ceramic, glass or stainless steel. Do not use aluminum.

3. Let the cereal sit in a warm oven overnight so prepare this right before you go to bed at night.

4. Dish up warm cereal in the morning. Add a bit of maple syrup or agave nectar.


Raw juices play an important role in the raw foods weight loss diet. Here’s one of my favorite raw juice recipes that energizes the body and may even stimulate peristalsis.


Carrot Apple Spinach Juice

Ingredients
* 4 carrots
* 1 apple
* 3 big handfuls spinach
* 1/4 inch fresh ginger

Directions
1. Wash all vegetables thoroughly.
2. Juice them, starting with the spinach and using a carrot to help it get through the juicer.
3. Then do the same with the ginger.
4. Finally add the apple.

Note: Some people say that carrots and apples have a higher Glycemic Index and are as bad as potatoes. This isn’t true at all. However, any juice you drink – even that of vegetables – should be sipped and not guzzled.

The primary thing to remember about a Raw Food Weight Loss Diet is to have fun! Make eating enjoyable and reap the health benefits of such a dietary program.
