Toothache Home Remedies – It All Starts With Prevention

When you have a mild toothache, there’s a chance that toothache home remedies may work. However, if that toothache worsens or persists for more than a few days, don’t hesitate to get it checked out by a dentist.

It’s possible that with good oral hygiene, you may never need any toothache home remedies.

Brushing your teeth and flossing are always helpful but your oral hygiene doesn’t stop there. Go beyond the traditional thinking and add some extra precautionary steps that can prevent tooth problems from occurring in the first place.

Here are some that you may not have heard of before:

Coconut oil swish every morning and night

Your mouth is the perfect environment for germs to grow and cause infections in your teeth. Oral infections and tooth infections may be passed from one person to the next via kissing. It’s important to remove as much of the bacteria that you can from your mouth with a tongue cleaner that scrapes off the microbes. But don’t stop there. Follow up with an antibacterial herbal combination that is used as a mouthwash and add coconut oil swishes to your daily routine.

The coconut swishes are explained best in the books written by Bruce Fyfe on coconut oil. Basically, you’ll take a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it in your mouth contacting all the oral structures. “Pull it through your teeth,” is what Bruce says, which can be done with a little sucking action. Do this for a full minute, and then build up to two to three minutes – each morning after you brush your teeth and clean your tongue, and before bed. You’ll notice a big improvement in your mouth health, teeth health and often, stubborn health issues in your body begin to disappear as well.

Using diatomaceous earth for toothpaste

Diatomaceous earth is composed of dietary silica. It’s one of the top nutrients you need for all connective tissue in your body, including your gums and teeth.

One of my patients had almost constant mouth pain because of bad gums and teeth. Her condition was so bad that her dentist wanted to give her gum transplants. I couldn’t imagine how horrible she would feel if she had to go through such a procedure, and suggested she pack diatomaceous earth around her gum line before she went to sleep at night.

Her next dental appointment was the very next day and she went to bed with the food-grade diatomaceous earth nourishing her gums. At her dental visit, the dentist asked her what she had done differently since her gums had made a remarkable turnaround; there was sufficient healing for him to notice a difference. She continued the diatomaceous earth toothache home remedies treatment and never needed the gum transplants.

Diatomaceous earth may be used as toothpaste. In fact, it’s often used in the formulation of toothpastes because it can have an abrasive quality. Thus, it will whiten teeth. The silica also acts as a builder of the enamel.
