Best Home Remedies For Puffy Eye Relief

Frosty Treatments

The secret to looking and feeling refreshed can usually be found in your kitchen. Nutrients and antioxidants in certain foods can be used as homemade eye packs or even packed up in your lunch cooler for a relaxing break at work. If you notice, no matter what the treatment, it includes a little nap – the perfect antidote for stress and inflammation.

* Tea Bag Eye Pillow – the anti-inflammatory properties of tea are perfect for puffy eyes. Steep a cup of herbal or green tea and pop the tea bags in the fridge for a few minutes while you drink your tea. When tea bags are chilled, wrap them in a thin soft towel and place over each eye. Rest for 15 minutes.

* Raw Sliced Veggiesvitamins and minerals in vegetables can tone and lighten skin. Take a thinly sliced cucumber or raw potato and place over each eye. Rest for 15 minutes.

* Milk Pads – lactic acid in milk can help reduce darkness under eyes. Soak cotton pads in cold milk, squeeze out slightly and place over eyes. Rest for 15 minutes.

* Iced Spoons – for simple soothing, chill 4 stainless steel spoons in ice water and rotate placing spoons over eyes to keep them chilled. Rest for 15 minutes.

Although puffy eye problems are usually not a reason to go to the doctor’s office, they can develop into more serious conditions such as heart, liver or kidney disease if left untreated. You should consult your doctor if you experience severe puffiness that does not go away, severe itching and redness, or if only one eye is affected.

No matter how you try, from expensive miracle creams to sleeping with frozen cotton balls on your eyes, there may be little you can do about the dark circles and puffiness. Hereditary factors plus environmental stress can leave its mark on the delicate skin under the eyes, and the less you irritate it the better. While some cosmetic creams or plastic surgeries can help the appearance of puffy eyes, sometimes we just need to gracefully accept our age. But you can still have a fainting couch for your treatments if you like.
