How To Treat Diarrhea During Pregnancy Naturally
|
Hot Ginger Infusion
This easy home remedy is useful as an after dinner tonic if you’re sick, pregnant or anytime. It’s so good for digestion, I recommend it for everyone.
* Peel a one inch piece of ginger-root and place in a mug
* Fill mug with boiling water and steep for 5 minutes
* Add lemon and honey, if desired, and sip slowly
Psyllium Husk Remedy
These fiber filled seeds expand in water to create a thick liquid which can balance out either constipation or diarrhea. Again this can be useful for just about anybody, not just pregnant women.
* Mix a large teaspoon of psyllium seed powder in an 8oz glass of room temperature water
* Stir until completely dissolved. Add more water if the mixture is too thick for you
* Drink slowly but within about ten minutes
In most cases diarrhea is not a concern during pregnancy, but if your symptoms don’t clear up in a couple of days, consult a physician to rule out serious conditions and ensure dehydration doesn’t occur. Do not take any over the counter medications, or anything that contains sodium bicarbonate to treat your diarrhea, unless supervised by a doctor.
Adding illness to all of the symptoms of pregnancy can be exhausting, so keeping your energy levels up and treating yourself well during every stage of your experience is crucial. Make your self-care routine a vital part of your daily routine, and then when you have a beautiful baby to care for, it will be a piece of cake.
