4 Natural Migraine Relief Remedies To Use Today

The study took place in Germany at the Department of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology at the Munich-Harlaching Clinic with 81 patients who had over three migraines a month. They were given 600 mg magnesium each day for 3 months (or a placebo). By the third month, those who had been consuming the magnesium had 41.6% fewer migraines than those in the placebo group. The placebo group also showed fewer migraines – 16%.

But that’s not all the good that came out of the study. Each time someone has a migraine, they’re down for the count and unable to work for a few days, if not longer. Those who received the magnesium had fewer down days and were more productive during their weeks involved in the study. And when the migraine group taking magnesium did have migraines, the headaches didn’t last as long as what they lasted prior to taking the magnesium.

Water: Simple Migraine Relief Remedy

One more natural migraine relief method to start using is the easiest of all – it’s water. When you’re dehydrated, one of the classic symptoms is a headache, and if you’re prone to develop migraines, dehydration can bring on a doozy of a migraine.

But what type of water should you drink? The type of water that makes the most sense is pure water that’s at a pH of 7.0. If the water isn’t pure, you’ll get a big dose of chemicals; any of the chemicals can trigger a headache in a chemically-sensitive person.

If the water is acidic, like most tap water, you can expect that your body will have a reaction to it and use up calcium and electrolytes to try to buffer the acidic reaction. Sometimes alkaline water may be your best solution – but don’t drink it regularly, as it will interfere with nutrient absorption.
