Fibromyalgia Trigger Points Shown To Improve With Nutrition Therapy

Iron and Fibromyalgia

In another study, serum ferritin levels that were lower than 50 ng/ml caused six and a half times more risk of developing fibromyalgia symptoms. Ferritin is a protein that stores and releases iron when needed in the body. If you have low levels of ferritin, you also have low levels of iron in the body.

What About Mixing Nutrients Together?

We can look at the effects of nutrients one by one, but nutrients always work together. When you provide all of them together, then you end up with a greater effect and more resolution of symptoms than if you only added them one by one. This is one of the reasons why the knowledge gained from research studies is limited.

Interestingly, intravenous nutrient therapy called the Myers cocktail has been used for decades to treat various diseases, including fibromyalgia and thought to be quite successful. It’s also used in cases where chelation therapy is administered to remove plaque from the arteries.

The Myers cocktail is a combination of nutrients that includes magnesium chloride hexahydrate 20%, 10% calcium gluconate, 1000 mcg vitamin B12, 100 mg B complex, 250 mg pantothenic acid, 222 mg vitamin C. This IV mixture was administered to over 15,000 patients over an 11-year period, and to 30 patients with fibromyalgia.

The fibromyalgia patients showed a big improvement after three to four IVs, according to Alan R. Gaby, M.D., who learned how to compound the IV and administer it from Dr. John Myers, M.D., the founder of the method.

Medical practitioners don’t often consider the nutritional approach to fibromyalgia. They consider the relationships between nutrients and fibromyalgia trigger points to be controversial. But how controversial can it be when you get results?
