Herbal Home Remedies For Headaches – Herbs For Effective Relief

Relief for Sinus Headaches
Sinus headaches are characterized by nasal stuffiness, or a runny nose. Tenderness may occur in the sinus region, face, ears or forehead. Sinus headaches are often seasonal in nature.
My favorite tea to relieve sinus headaches is goldenrod tea. Drink three to four cups of the hot tea per day during allergy season. It works extremely fast and well.
An herbal steam can also be made with eucalyptus or ginger. Simply sprinkle a couple of spoonfuls of the dried herb over a large bowl of hot water. Sit with your face several inches away from the bowel. Place a towel over your head. The herbal steam will unclog the sinuses and offer rapid relief of the headache.
Herbal Aspirin for Headaches
Herbs which contain salicin work like aspirin but without the side effects. Herbs were the original source of the active ingredient in aspirin. Willow, black haw, and meadowsweet are just a few herbs rich in salicin. Either make a tea or purchase a pre made product.
Follow the label directions on pre made products. I prefer tinctures to other commercial herb products such as capsules or pills when a headache is present as relief is obtained quicker when tinctures are used.
The Bottom Line – Herbal Home Remedies for Headaches
Herbs help to prevent and reduce the intensity of headaches. These simple home remedies provide rapid headache relief. Use herbs internally and topically to obtain comfort the next time that you are afflicted with a headache.
