How To Treat Bronchitis Naturally – Try These Home Remedies

Essential oils

These amazing plant concentrates contain anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and ant-bacterial properties and help to expel mucus while promoting healing.

* Basil – was used in ancient times to treat respiratory conditions

* Eucalyptus – famous for its anti-bacterial and expectorant powers

* Lavender – a pleasant remedy with calming effect on the mind and breath

* Peppermint – contains anti-inflammatory properties and is soothing and cooling

* Rosemary – reduces infections and mucus while stimulating the immune system

* Tea Tree – the ultimate virus killer with tissue regenerating properties

Applications

* Steam inhalation – fill a medium sized glass bowl halfway with steaming hot (not boiling) distilled water and essential oils. Hold towel over your head and gently breathe the vapors for 5-10 minutes three times per day.

* Compress – soak a linen or cotton cloth in a small bowl of hot water and essential oils. Squeeze out excess water and lay over upper chest. Lie flat and breathe easily, for 10-15 minutes twice per day.

* Massage – mix essential oils with a massage oil or lotion. Apply liberally to chest and back two to three times per day.

* Baths – add essential oils to bathwater and soak for up to twenty minutes for a detoxifying, clearing effect.

* Diffuser or Humidifier – add essential oils to a piece of cheese cloth or gauze and allow the steam or vapor to move through the cloth. Use in office or bedroom where you spend the most time.

I encourage you to try one or two methods and notice if you feel a positive change in symptoms. It is better to start slowly and build up the number of methods or frequency of an application. Essential oils can be very powerful and tolerance can vary between individuals – use with caution.

These are convenient and inexpensive ways to support your respiratory health, and boost your healing potential. Consistency with these remedies is essential to keep bronchitis in check, along with limiting stress and supporting a healthy immune system. Give yourself the extra care – you and your lungs deserve it.
