Use Herbs For Acne Relief

Tea tree essential oil provides antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. It is found in many skin care products. You may simply dab a drop of the oil directly on a blemish to aid healing. Better yet, combine a few drops of the oil with water and natural cosmetic clay from an herb store to make a paste. Apply the paste to the pimple. Simply let the paste dry on your skin for about twenty minutes and rinse off. Follow with an astringent toner. The clay will help to dry the pimple up and absorb excess oil from your skin. The tea tree oil will fight bacteria and provide soothing relief.

The rose is another herb which benefits the skin. It is rich in vitamin C and a wonderful aid to the elimination of acne. It keeps the acid balance of your skin at the perfect pH for preventing acne. It soothes the skin and relieves inflammation. Rosewater is inexpensive, yet smells rich, and is a pleasure to use. You may purchase rosewater in grocery stores, natural foods stores or herb shops.

Try combining one cup of rosewater with two tablespoons of vegetable glycerin and one half cup of witch hazel extract to make an astringent toner. The glycerin and witch hazel may be purchased at herb shops or pharmacies. You may choose to add ten drops of tea tree oil to the blend as well. Shake the blend well before each use. Apply with a cotton ball after washing and drying your face or carry some in a spritzer bottle for water free face cleaning when you are on the go.

Commercial products are readily available which use herbs to reduce acne flare-ups. Look for products that contain the above mentioned ingredients. Other topical skin care products which may reduce acne flare-ups include products that contain tea tree oil, oats, chamomile, rosemary, lemon, sage, or green tea. Buy the best quality products that you can afford. I recommend using organic products as they are chemical free and less irritating to your skin as well as better for the environment.

The best skin care products are the ones you make yourself. Initially, the investment of money and time may seem high, but you will find that over time your skin will be soft and blemish free. You will be able to customize your skin care items to your needs and fragrance preferences. Acne will be just a distant memory.
