Basic Chest Massage With A Partner

2. Keeping one hand on your partner’s right shoulder, move around to the right side of your partner. Using both hands stacked together, lightly stroke the left pectoral muscle from the center of the chest, above the breast area and over to the left shoulder. Softly glide the hand back to the center. Continue with slow, even strokes several times.

3. Next, using your fingers, gently palpate the hollow area between the collar bone and shoulder. Stimulate this small spot by using gentle thumb pressure, being aware of your partner’s comfort level as this can be quite tender. Hold for ten seconds.

4. Gently stroke the area beneath the collar bone, using your knuckles to glide from the shoulder to the center. Repeat several times.

5. Return to standing above your partner’s head and repeat step 1.

6. Move over to your partner’s left side and repeat steps 2-4.

7. Return to standing at the head and finish by repeating step 1 again using a very light touch. Let your partner rest for a moment before getting up or moving onto another area.

It is nice to trade a little massage work with a spouse or trusted friend. Don’t think that because you didn’t go to massage school that you can’t lovingly put your hands on someone and make them feel better. I think all massage therapists will agree that a light touch is better than no touch at all. The benefits of massage can positively affect so many areas of your life, so make it a part of your weekly health care plan, and discover how great you can feel.
