Chiropractic Neck Pain Treatment May Be What You Need

He can differentiate between arthritis in the neck, disk herniation in the cervical spine, spinal stenosis, fractured vertebrae, vertebrae collapse, facet syndrome, and other conditions of the neck. To confirm the diagnosis, he may also refer you to an imaging center that will take x-rays, an MRI, a CAT scan or other images. Because of his training, he’s able to read these scans of the body and be accurate in diagnosis.
The next part of the process is treatment. Chiropractic neck pain treatment usually involves manual adjustment, although tools have been invented for chiropractors to deliver an electrical impulse or adjustment into the vertebrae that needs stimulation. There’s no pain with the delivery of the impulse. Manual adjustment may feel and sound like a pop in the joints of the neck. Scientists have researched what that sound is, and it’s only the release of nitrogen gas from the joint. Thus, it’s not harmful.
New Treatments for Neck Pain
Chiropractic neck pain treatment may include decompression of the spine, which is a procedure that uses traction to ‘suck’ a disk that is herniated back into the spinal canal. It may include a cold laser treatment that delivers light to the sore muscles and joints. The light energy stimulates the circulation into the area of your neck that needs the healing and removes the waste products in the area. This sets up the environment for your body to heal itself.
Your chiropractor will set you up on a schedule of treatments for your neck pain. Each additional treatment helps stimulate the body’s healing even further, and before long, most people will see a big difference in how their neck feels. The schedule may start out with treatments daily if the condition is serious enough to warrant that, or three treatments per week for the first few weeks. As you get better, the number of chiropractic neck pain treatments will decrease to two, then one weekly, and then once every two weeks and even only once a month.
Using chiropractic for neck pain is well worth the investment of time and effort. As the world’s leading alternative healing method, you’ll soon understand what you’ve been missing!
