Use This Simple Liver Detox Diet To Cleanse This Important Organ

If you are feeling sluggish and low on energy or you experience skin rash, it might be a sign that it is time to detoxify your liver.

The liver performs the most flushing out of toxins in the body and it can easily get clogged up, especially if you are following an unhealthy diet and are under a lot of stress. Getting on a liver detox diet occasionally will help keep the liver working well and it will also provide you with more energy and radiating skin.

This great liver detox diet is recommended by Doctor Oz. He created this diet in 2011 to really maximize the liver cleanse with great liver healing foods. The liver detox diet is also only a 48-hour diet so it won’t require you to do anything too extraordinary. It is easy to follow this diet and get great results.

Breakfast

* 1/2 cup of quinoa
* 1 cup of water
* 1 pinch of nutmeg
* 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
* 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil
* 1/3 cup of chopped prunes
* 1/4 cup of rice milk

Dr Oz recommends you start off your detoxification program with lots of whole grains that give you complete proteins. Quinoa provides you with a lot of fiber and prunes help you start the cleansing because they act as a laxative to the body.

Lunch

* 1/2 cup of almond milk (plain / unsweetened)

* 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed

* 1/4 cup of frozen blueberries

* 1/4 of a banana

* 1/2 cup of ice

For your lunch, make a fruit smoothie using the above ingredients. Blueberries are an excellent liver detox food because of the substance called quercetin. This is a flavonoid that helps the body increase its immune levels. Bananas are great as well because they have a lot of vitamin B6, which will help in liver detoxification.
