To start creating your own juice recipes for healing, it’s a good idea to get a book on the topic. Some of the best books on juicing include one by Cherie Calbom, M.S., and John Calbom, M.A. called Juicing, Fasting, and Detoxing for Life: Unleash the Healing Power of Fresh Juices and Cleansing Diets.

Here are others that are excellently written:

One of the earliest books on juicing I read that really made a big difference in my patients’ health over the years was Drink Your Troubles Away, written by John B. Lust. The author was a naturopath and listed all types of fruits and vegetables along with the associated body parts that would be strengthened if you juiced these specific foods. He also listed different conditions and what vegetables and fruits to focus on. Even though the information in this book dates back to the early 1980s, it is still accurate.

Many of the current books on the market also include these types of lists, and if a natural health practitioner is the author, you have more likelihood of finding the lists in the book contents.


Why You Need the Knowledge in These Juicing Books

In these books, you’ll learn things like:

• Carrots, radishes and parsnips are good sources of arginine.
• Collard greens, kale, and turnip greens provide quite a bit of calcium.
